Forty one Athletic Administrators took LT classes during the OIAAA Conference in October in Columbus. The comments on the evaluations were positive and indicated that the participants believed that the courses would be helpful in becoming more effective athletic administrators. Fourteen of the administrators were new OIAAA members and took advantage of the one-time offer of receiving LTC 502 free for joining the OIAAA. That offer was only valid for the October 2009 Conference.
The OIAAA LEADERSHIP TRAINING ACADEMY will be held on June 22, at Dublin Scioto High School. The LTC core courses of 501, 502, 504 and 506 will be offered. In order to assist CMAA candidates reach that Certification level 3 LTC 600 series courses and a 700 course will be offered. The 3 LTC 600 courses are LTC 619 The Power of Curb Appeal and LTC 625 Management of Game and Event Announcing.
LTC 619 points out that visitors to a school often form an opinion of the school and community based on first impressions of the appearance of the facilities. Strategies and methods are provided for maintaining structures and facilities. Enrollees who will derive the greatest benefit from this course will be administrators seeking techniques and methods to enhance public confidence in the administrators ability to maintain athletic facilities and to project a positive image to the community. LTC 625 offers valuable insight on how to utilize a public address system in assisting with the successful operation of events. Your public address announcer is a very important member of your event managing team. Jeff will give you various ways that the P.A. can be utilized to assist in successful management of athletic contests. The LTC 619 and 625 courses will be taught by Jeff Kurtz an Athletic Administrator from Hudson, OH. and the P.A. announcer for Kent State University. Jeff is the author of LTC 625.
